As you can read about on this project case study, we had previously supplied and installed our black woodgrain uPVC windows and Painswick Solidors for this customer in Wadhurst, East Sussex. Having been thoroughly impressed not only with the product but with our installers Dave and Stuart too, placing the order with us for the two black aluminium sliding patio doors was a no brainer for them.
They had seen a sample of our Smart Visoglide Plus slimline aluminium sliding patio doors at our showroom in black. It is called “slimline” due to the fairly new slimline 35mm meeting style available. In comparison to other more bulky meeting styles on the market, ranging from 70mm up to 120mm, it’s not hard to see why its slim frame is attracting many customers.
Our salesman Mark ran through all of the threshold details, handle colour options and opening configurations before the order was placed. He explained that they were to be fitted with our Saint Gobain Planitherm Total Plus toughened safety glass as standard, argon-filled sealed units as well as our black warm edge spacer bars (Black Swiss Spacers). This would stop any condensation forming around the edge of glazed unit as can be seen on many poor performance glazing units that use metallic spacer bars.
As part of the work, we quoted the extra cost for our installers were required to knock out some brickwork to create the full opening for the new doors. Of course, this would also involve re-plastering and any other making good required.
Given lead times on aluminium at the time, it took around 7 weeks from ordering the metal to the doors being made and ready to go. As soon as they were ready, our installers Dave and Stuart were back round to supply and install the two sets of aluminium sliding patio doors. The end result is something we’re really proud of. We’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
