Bifolding doors and windows.

We installed the aluminium bifolding doors and windows into this double storey extension in Bearsted, Kent.

These customers came to us having seen our work, as they are friends with a couple we had recently completed work for nearby in Bearsted. We had installed bifolding doors, sliding doors and many windows for them.

As a result of seeing all of our the products and they way they were installed in their friends’ property, these customers knew exactly what they wanted right from the off in terms of frame colour, handle colour and design. The spec was very quickly decided upon, and a meeting at the showroom confirmed all of these details. After seeing the electric and magnetic integrated blinds on show at the showroom, they inevitably played with the idea of adding integrated magnetic blinds to their bifolds. However, at around £420 per pane, they simply proved out of budget on an already expensive extension.

In terms of the design, after seeing everything at the showroom, the couple went for the following. Our Smart Alitherm 300 square bead casement windows with one of our Smart Visofold 3-pane bifolding doors. All items were in RAL7016 matt colour like our Loggia, which features sliding doors and windows. this really sold the colour to the couple. It was similar to one they had seen on Grand Designs. Everything was double glazed with our standard glass – Planitherm Total Plus with Low E to the inner pane.

After placing the order and paying their 50% deposit, our surveyor was out in around a week and six weeks after that, our fitting team completed the installation of the bifolding doors and windows in a day. The end result is a great living space that the parents of the house use for entertaining when the children have finished playing table tennis or table football!

All in all, a lovely project!
