Our custom coloured aluminium windows and front door set really transformed this property.

This customer came to us originally through our website. Wanting to get an idea of how much it would cost to change all the windows and doors on their property, our chap James worked alongside the customer quoting her for every product and spec option. They did want to compromise on quality and wanted exactly the right product.

This started off with material. Taking along samples to the customers’ home, James took along a uPVC and aluminium window sample with a colour swatch too. The customer didn’t like the bulky frames or colour options available on uPVC windows. They loved the sturdiness and thinner frame of the aluminium window sample. That meant we were looking at aluminium.

Design-wise, James went around to every window with the customer designing the openings. Normally our most popular aluminium window is our Alitherm 300 casement window. However, having got used to them on the continent, this customer wanted the tilt and turn opening mechanism. Our tilt and turn EcoFutural window has its advantages. They can go wider and higher than a casement window meaning our customers can maximise glass sizes. They are also useful as they can be slightly opened at the top in order to ventilate without compromising on security.

The next question was colour. Our Smart “Naturals” range includes 13 standard colours. Normally, our customers happily choose a colour from that range for their coloured aluminium windows. However, this customer wanted something a little bit more special. They had their eye on a light grey/green. So we provided them with one of our RAL Colour charts. They chose RAL 7030 Matt inside and outside. They also went for satin chrome handles. On their front door, they chose one of our “Bow” handles with an “Igman” panel to complete the modern look.

Living on a fairly noisy road and conscious of thermal values, they chose to upgrade the glazing to our standard Planitherm Total Plus with argon-filled cavities and black warm edge spacer bars.

The before and after photos below show the transformation in all its glory!
