The pretty seaside village of East Preston in West Sussex is the epitome of charm and character. Home to some of the south’s most impressive properties, it’s become a magnet for London-based second homeowners and property developers alike.
As we specialise in high-end architectural glazing products, we’re often the first port of call for developers in the area. In this project, we were ‘go-to architectural glazing contractors’ for King and Drury. Having worked with us on previous projects (the Beach House and the Shore House), they knew we could deliver the large aluminium installation needed for this property.
Here’s how we used the Schüco AWS70SC windows system, ASS70FD bifolding door system and the ASS70HI lift and slide sliding door system to help the customer achieve his end vision:
Putting aesthetic first
For this project, the customer was a property developer looking to sell through King and Drury. In order to enhance the look of the building they wanted the windows to complement the cladding. We sent over samples and the customer settled on RAL7035, a light grey shade that helped to add a modern feel to the property.
It was also important to the customer that the property looked immaculate and consistent throughout. For this reason, we suggested adding dummy sashes throughout the property. Dummy sashes create symmetry by making windows that don’t open look like ones that do, ensuring a balanced aesthetic across the whole property.
Rising to every challenge
For this project, there were a lot of logistics involved and we had a plan in place for every stage, even using a Glass Giraffe glass vacuum lifting machineto get 250kg glass up to the first floor.
As with every project, we’re committed to making sure the installation process is as smooth as possible and strive to take care of every element. The customer was delighted with the success and ease of the installation – and the dedication of our team.
An end result that elevates the property
One of the reasons this project was so successful was the fact that we took care of every detail. Our project consultant James ensured the pressure was off the customer by managing all communications. Keeping both the the customer and the supplier, Schüco, informed at each stage.
Product choice was also key to the success of this project, with the customer thrilled with their decision to use Schüco windows and doors. The bifolding door system and the lift and slide system have added a sleek look, while the double glazed, solar controlled windows add warmth and offer an enhanced coastal view.
