If our recent experiences operating throughout the South East has taught us anything, it’s that more and more homeowners are looking for better opportunities to add striking features to their home, making it appear more distinct and practical for their needs as a result. This is where lift & slide doors can come in.

The experienced DWL team were involved from the start on this grand new build in Littlehampton, East Preston. We supplied and installed our Schuco AWS70SC aluminium windows as well as Schuco ASS70HI lift and slide doors.

Having been brought in at the start by the main contractors King & Drury Construction, who had got in touch with Schuco to find a fabricator/installer.

For such a large and grand house, the brief was quite simple really. All aluminium in RAL7016 matt grey, which is seemingly the colour of choice at the moment. Multiple lift and slide sliding doors (including a 12 metre wide set!) along with outward opening top hung casement windows, all of which to feature sleek and clean sightlines.

The newly installed slimline casements feature particularly narrow face widths that have been specifically designed with efficiency in mind, using the natural strength of aluminium to withstand larger panes of glass that better open up your home to impressive outside views, with the same being said for the Schuco lift & slide door system installed, which opens effortlessly.

A series of lift & slide doors were installed carefully and safely on both the first and ground level floors to truly allow for large influxes of natural light to enter. The Schüco ASS70HI door sets were installed to always allow the home to make the best use of space whether open or closed, with each panel operating independently of one another so optimal levels of ventilation, light and access can be achieved.

The 12 metre wide set of doors represented a challenge, with single glazed units weighing over 300kg each, requiring 8 men and glazing robots to lift the units into place. With our experience on these types of projects, this was not a problem.

This a stunning finished project that was completed on budget and on time. As well as an amazing sense of light and space, our team were able to achieve the required energy-efficiency requirements on this build.
