Our Schuco bifolding doors in anthracite grey with internal blinds finished off this simple yet effective extension in Wimbledon.

As registered Schuco fabricators and installers, we supply and install a lot of Schuco aluminium products. Although Schuco have hundreds of different window, doors and curtain walling systems, we only ever really supply and install around 5 systems. For aluminium windows, it’s either the AWS 70 HI (highly insulated) or the AWS 70 SC (slim casement) window profile. For sliding doors, it’s either the ASS 50 or the ASS 70 HI. For curtain walling, it’s generally the FW 50+. Last but certainly not least, is the Schuco bifolding doors, for which the ASS 70 FD(folding door) system is the go to option. All of these products are very high performance products, both in terms of thermal values and security.

This particular project came to us just after the foundations had begun so we needed to move fast. We never actually attended the site for pricing as there was nothing to measure. Instead, our chap James agreed a rough size with the customer and our surveyor would attend the site to take a final measure once the order was placed.

As seems to be often the case, this customer was fairly set on Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 matt from the start. They wanted to go for the standard black finish on the hardware (handles and hinges). For thermal and noise reasons, they showed some initial interest in triple glazing and were also interested in our internal blinds too. Luckily, our internal blinds were at that point only just available in triple glazed units, so James was able to quote them both options.

Our internal blinds come in different options, all of which come with different price tags. This includes (in price order low to high) traditional corded blinds, magnetic blinds and electrically operated blinds. As a company, we install the magnetic option most. This is sleeker than the corded option and more reliable than the electrical option and is priced somewhere in between the two.

Anyway, the order for the Schuco bifolding doors was placed and our surveyor Terry attended the site once the customer had the aperture built. Then, around 6 weeks later, everything was made and we successfully installed everything over the course of a day.

These Schuco bifolding doors, combined with the integral blinds really make it a great example of the work we do.
