On this grand new build home in Sevenoaks, our uPVC woodgrain foiled Victorian sash windows were ideal.
In some of our projects, we are so pleased that our customers fork out for the extra for a superior product. We have done a lot of work for this customer already on various new build projects. This Residence 9 case study is one example. As is clear, we are used to working on high end new builds with this house building customer of ours.
They carry out a mixture of new build development projects to sell on after completion but also take on projects acting as a main contractor, where they build grand homes for discerning clients. This project is a case of the latter, where they built this home on behalf of someone who owned the land and development.
Right in the heart of Seal, Sevenoaks, it was important for the property to fit into the surrounding properties in taste and design. This meant using Georgian bars and traditional sliding Victorian sash windows to achieve a traditional feel, whilst still using our energy efficient Saint Gobain double glazing.
We met with the clients at our showroom, where we talked through the options and where they were on price. At our showroom, we have our uPVC sliding sash windows on display in uPVC, uPVC woodgrain, aluminium and timber. All of these products come in at different price ranges of course, starting with uPVC all the way up to timber. Given how many Victorian style sash windows would be going into this property, budget was obviously a key consideration. Whilst the homeowners loved our hardwood timber sliding sash windows, they would blow the budget of the build out of the water. After having fallen in love with the timber ones, they were pleasantly surprised after stumbling upon the uPVC sliding sash windows over on the other side of the showroom. We informed them that they were a third of the price of timber and still looked like timber, and so it was decided.
Everything was ordered, surveyed and installed over the period of a week and the end result is exactly what the customer was after. There was also a slimline aluminium roof lantern we installed on the property too, which can be read about in this case study.
