When mapping out every detail of your dream home, the last thing you want to do is compromise on your vision. Meet with the wrong architect, choose a below-par product or fail to build a rapport with your suppliers and you may end up feeling disappointed with the final result.
At DWL, we understand the intricacies (and emotions) involved with the renovation process. Which is why we take such care and time over every detail to ensure the perfect finish. Our philosophy is that only the best will do, which is exactly the result we achieved using slim black glazing for our customers from Whistable, Kent.
Providing the expertise needed to complete the project
We first met these lovely customers at the Build It Live exhibition 2016 at Detling Showground. After chatting with our project consultant Lisa, they knew instantly we were the right team to move their home project forward.
The customers were also impressed with our range of luxury products – spotting the perfect set of two pane DWL Slimline – 20 Sliding doors and a Skylight with glass fins that would complete their extension. In fact, while our products were a bit of a stretch to their budget, the customers were so confident in what they saw, they were willing to make the investment.
Considering the elements to ensure the right choice
Given the seafront location of their property, it was essential to these customers that the doors were durable enough to withstand the unpredictable British weather.
As we have plenty of experience in beachside properties, we knew it was not only important to show the customers the certification but to invite them to our luxury showroom too.
Here we were able to demonstrate the substantial drainage tray we fit underneath the frame of every sliding door. Seeing that it was physically impossible for water ingress was super reassuring to our customers and motivated them to place an order with us.
We were also able to provide guidance on colour palette. Suggesting a jet black RAL9005 matt shade to starkly contrast against the calming, neutral interior décor. The customer agreed this was the ideal choice.
A complete extension in just a few months
After the show, the customers sent over their architectural drawings of the glazed extension which we used to provide a formal quote.
We also provided the client with .dwg format drawings of our products. This meant their architect was able to ‘drop in’ our products into the overall architectural scheme drawings so the customer could see every exciting element
In the run up to installation, the customers remained in contact with Lisa. Having the same point of contact throughout acted as a major point of reassurance and meant we were able to build a firm rapport with the customers. The perfect antidote to renovation stress!
Next, our experienced surveyor Terry paid a visit to the site to ensure our products complemented the builders plans. The installation itself was completed over the course of three days and was a seamless experience throughout.
This was mainly due to the fact we always invest in the best equipment for the job. In this case, it was the Oscar 600 that allowed us to lift the heavy doors into place with ease, offering the customers peace of mind.
The customers say:“ We had a specific brief which included slim black glazing as a must – we were so pleased DWL had all the products for the job. This meant we didn’t need to compromise on anything. We’re very happy with their service!”
A space dedicated to entertaining and relaxing
Combining a tasteful neutral colour palette with a minimalist sliding door design has created a peaceful zone within this customer’s home in the form of a modern glazed extension.
Extending space in the kitchen and breathing life into a social seating area has allowed them to bring light, fresh air and a calming atmosphere to their modern property. Ideal for relaxation, cosy get-togethers or an extended staycation.
