The attraction to cornerless bifold doors is obvious. Bifolding doors creating great open spaces in an extension is one thing. But being able to fully open up the corner of ones house is another. The photos below demonstrate just how lovely this is.
There was, as one would expect, a lot of structural work required on the house to allow for this. The weight of the house has to be cantilevered away from that corner of the house to ensure that excessive weight does not come down onto the steel, which would eventually force down onto the bifold door frame and prevent them from working correctly. All of this was calculated by the structural engineers and our job was to install the 90 degree cornerless bifolding doors into the opening.
We configured the Smart Visofold 1000 doors in such a way that the traffic doors of each bifold door open at the corner, which would allow the homeowners easy access in and out through the doors without having to open all of the panes.
The end result, as seen below, has created a truly stunning space – exactly what the customer was after.
