DWL Slimline – 20 Sliding doors with floating corners for a minimalist property in Epsom, Surrey
The stunning market town of Epsom instantly conjures images of the British countryside in all its glory. With sweeping views of the Epsom downs and rural Surrey, it’s no surprise that residents look for more ways to enjoy those breathtaking views. In this recent project we helped a client to do just that. Working closely with a reputable architect to enhance the view of his own home while maintaining his minimalist vision.
From sketches to reality
As an architect, our client was naturally keen to preserve the ultra-modern aesthetic of his home and came into the process with clear ideas. Working from his sketches, project manager James was able to suggest products that complemented the client’s end vision.
In keeping with his desired look, we decided on a set of DWL Slimline – 20 Sliding doors, which would allow light to flood in while seamlessly blending with the feel of the property. After seeing our sliding doors in the showroom, the client was wowed by both the premium quality and the practical benefits, such as the innovative electric locking system.
After an initial discussion, the client agreed that only DWL Slimline 20 could offer the completely unique 20mm sightlines he wanted. This would allow him to effortlessly enhance the view from his property without compromising on the minimalist aesthetic.
Tailoring each element for the perfect result
The client decided on a 9 pane continuous set of DWL Slimline – 20 Sliding door in black. To heighten the desired ‘glass box’ illusion, we were able to create a unique system which included all moving corners. This allowed us to significantly reduce sightlines for the ultimate modern finish.
Also included in this project were the Smart Alitherm 300 windows and the Smart Visoglide sliding doors. Like DWL Slimline – 20, these products boasted slim and sleek sightlines, offering a defined look that ticked every box of the client’s needs.
Collaborating each step of the way
The rapport between the client, our project manager James and our surveyor Ed was key to the success of this project. From the first initial meeting, the client felt as though he were in safe hands and had no doubt that the project would be completed on time.
Meeting with the client throughout the process was key to ensuring each element reflected his specific needs. And because we were able to work directly from the client’s own sketches, we were able to truly capture his vision for a completely personal end result.
