These customers came to us through a family friend for whom we had previously carried out a large-scale aluminium windows and doors installation. Having moved into the main house in early 2014, the plan was to build an outhouse as soon as possible that they could temporarily move into whilst they got stuck into a huge refurbishment project on the main house. The full write up of this project can be found here.
The first step was a meeting at the showroom with Dan, who showed them all of the aluminium bifold doors we have on show there, which includes grey aluminium bifold doors. They immediately fell in love with the Platinum Grey colour from our Sensations colour range. We have a set of 4 pane Visofold 1000 grey aluminium bifold doors with internal blinds installed at our Kent showroom, which people often comment on. Colour is normally what our customers take longest to decide over and in some cases agonise for weeks over which colour they should go for. The vast choice of over 200 RAL colours and the Sensations range is probably to blame. In this case, seeing the doors there in our showroom in situ pretty much decided things for the couple.
Then it was just a case of designing them. They had one aperture at 5 metres wide and another at 3 metres wide. So, the obvious choice was a 5 pane and a 3 pane set of bifolds. This would allow them to have the traffic door at one end, whilst still permitting all of the panes to slide and stack at the same end. A traffic door also allows easy access in and out without having to open up more than one pane. In summary, the apertures were the perfect size for our grey aluminium bifold doors!
