As is often the case, this grand project arrived with us as a large email attachment. Our estimator David got straight to quoting everything up for the client. As the specification was quite clear from the start, it wasn’t too much trouble to quote everything with our commercial windows and doors quite quickly. Aluminium windows and doors had been discounted quickly as they would be out of budget for the development, as is often the case! However, it was still very important to create an aesthetically pleasing building.
So we quoted the specification as requested using what is standard for our commercial windows and doors. Our Saint Gobain Planitherm Total Plus double glazed units with the grey uPVC foiled commercial windows as requested. We quoted what are called dummy transoms, which give the heritage appearance that the client was after. This works to perfectly offset against the very modern combination of white render and grey commercial windows.
There are of course extra considerations when it comes to commercial properties, with access control, automated access and privacy glass coming to the fore. We took control of all these issues and included all of the necessary automation as part of our quote. As with all of these large developments, the main contractor provides scaffolded access as well as winches to get the frames and glass up to where our installers need them.
The grey colour the client chose really works well offset against the white rendered walls of the building to create a truly unique building that is one of our favourites to showcase.
