Heritage aluminium windows are certainly high in demand. They combine modern thermal and security features with super slim aluminium frames.
A mainstay building to any local resident, the Cyprus Road Nursery needed windows that replicated the look of the previous windows. They were white traditional crittall windows with bars.
So, we proposed our Heritage 47 window. It would replicate the ultra-thin frames that were required. We then also proposed two options the the client with regard to the glazing. Firstly, and at lesser cost, they could have georgian inserts which are the bars that are found inside the glazed unit. Or, they could have astragal bars, which are bars that are outside the glazed unit on either side. Unsurprisingly, this is the more expensive option. However, the clients’ hands were tied. They had to use the external astragal bars because that is what was on the crittall windows previously.
We then moved onto the commercial entrance door. This needed to be a sliding door as many people came into the building with extra wide prams and wheelchairs. In addition to this, a keypad entrance system was required for easy, controlled and safe passage.
After a meeting at our showroom, the decision was made between matt white and gloss white, as well as handle colours and double glazing spec. We also had to decide on the exact RAL colour of the commercial entrance sliding door.
A week or so later, our surveyor attended the site and measured everything up as well as checking all finer details off with client. Around 6 weeks later, we had all of the heritage aluminium windows and door made and one of our fitting teams were on site for an entire week to ensure everything was installed up to our standard.
