These customers needed a heritage window company for their Residence 9.

As an experienced heritage window company, Residence 9 installations like this have become the norm for us.

These customers came to us through the Residence 9 website, when Residence 9 was still very new to the industry. On their website, you can search for your nearest stockist. You enter in your home postcode, and three to five local installers are recommended to you. As a heritage window company, we specialise in many heritage products such as Residence 9, Evolution Storm 2 and Flush, Smart aluminium Heritage 47 (Crittall look-a-like window).

Anyway, for this couple in Maidstone, Kent, we were one of the local registered installers that showed up. They duly got in touch with us and we arranged for someone to pop round with a window sample to explain the product and measure up in order to provide a price.

We duly attended site and went through the product. This usually involves explaining some of the unique features of Residence 9 windows.

  • Unique mechanical joined sashes as well as a mechanically joined outer frame.
  • A fully foiled rebate (meaning only the woodgrain is seen when the window is open.
  • A 100mm frame from front to back, just like 19th century timber windows had.
  • Traditional hardware including monkey tail handles, butt hinges and peg stays (dummy and functional).
  • Extra deep timber look external cill.

These points above and their confidence in us as a company left them impressed. The quote was sent through to them a few days later and they duly accepted it.

The couple went for white grain outside and Irish Oak inside with antique 9mm square lead throughout.
