Residence 9 windows and aluminium windows and doors.

Residence 9 windows and aluminium windows and doors completed the transformation of this beautiful property in the Kent countryside.

These customers came to us through the Residence 9 windows website. The maintenance free aspect of the product really appealed to them. Various meetings at the property and the showroom decided on the English Oak outside / Cotswold Biscuit inside colour scheme and the black antique monkey tail handles.

They also opted to pay the extra for mechanically joined sashes as opposed to welded ones to take full advantage of the Residence 9 windows. Some of its key features are below.

  • Mechanically jointed sashes as well as outer frame to fully replicate 19th century timber windows.
  • Traditional butt hinges, handles and peg stays.
  • Fully foiled rebate so only woodgrain on show when window open.
  • Extra-deep 55mm Radlington cill to replicate timber.
  • Georgian/Astragal bars and leaded glass to create specific looks.
  • Triple glazing available if thermal values and noise insulation is a priority.
  • Have mechanical (squared) corner joints as opposed to welded (diagonal) ones to the outer frame.
  • Comes with extra deep timber-look cills as opposed to the thinner (30mm) cill used with uPVC windows.
  • Available in an array of fitting traditional colours.

During a meeting at the property, the side project was the “sun room” of the property, where the family spent most of their time. This room is situated on the ground floor on the bottom right, closest to the lake in front of the house. We could see why this was a popular room. The aim was to let us much light in as possible and keep as much heat as possible. So, the solution was our triple glazed Smart aluminium top hung windows, giving maximum glass sizes and heat retention.

Aesthetically, the couple wanted to create a feature of this room too. So, Antique Grey from our Sensations Range was chosen.

We then moved onto the dormer windows, which were needing a lot of work as well as the new Residence 9 windows. We were then required to fix Anthracite Grey foiled trim to the sides and bottom of the four dormers on the property.

Six weeks later, the installation was carried out by Mark and Josh, one of our highly experienced teams, who were able to carry out the installation of all three products: Residence 9 windows and French Doors, aluminium windows and the dormer work. The installation took two weeks in total.

The family were absolutely over the moon with the job and soon after, placed the order with us to install a new front and back door along with all of the fascias, soffits and guttering to match the work we carried out on the dormers.

This project has even received recognition directly from Residence 9 themselves, who published this blog article about it and another R9 project of ours.
