This enquiry came to us through the Schuco website, and as registered Schuco installers, this is not uncommon. We sent out an introductory email explaining our services, to which the customer emailed through the sizes and spec they were after. They already had done a lot of research into the product and pretty much knew exactly what they wanted already.
Schuco bi folds are highly thermally efficient and run very smoothly along the track. They can also go higher and wider per pane than most other products on the market.
James worked alongside the customer to get what they wanted all properly quoted. The customers were interested in internal blinds (inside the glazed unit) but weren’t sure if they could justify the extra expense. The most expensive type of internal blinds are our electrically operated ones, which roughly work out at £600 per pane more than standard double glazing. At around £400 per pane more, the more reasonably priced are our magnetic swipe internal blinds, which are operated by a small handle at the side of the unit and require no electrical work. These are by far our most popular internal blind type that we often find ourselves installing in our Schuco bi folds.
After ordering, our surveyor Terry took final measurements and instructed that the doors should be made in kit form as they needed to be built up on the top floor of the penthouse. There was no way to get them up and through the communal building with the outer frame being pre-built. We have to do this quite a lot when there are access issues.
Around 6 weeks later, our team Dave and Stuart attended the property and spent all day on a very rainy Friday removing the existing doors and installing the new Schuco bi folds with magnetic internal blinds. The end result is something bot us and the customer are really happy with. See the before and after photos below.
