As a registered installer of Schuco windows and doors, we receive quite a few enquiries through directly from Schuco. This project was no different, the customer came to us through the Schuco website, and sent through the architects drawings they had for their planning application. As with many of this type of enquiries, the customer was quite a way off from needing to order and was yet to receive full planning permission when they sent them through to us. Nevertheless, after asking a few pertinent questions about design such as frame colour, double or triple glazed, trickle vents and handle colour etc. we were ready to get everything quoted up.
We quoted our AWS70 SC (Slim casement) Schuco windows along with double doors from our ASS70 FD (bifolding door) material, as they are a slightly slimmer profile. We also quoted for all of the aluminium pressings that the customer need to clad his steels. After sending through the quote, we received a few questions back requesting prices for a few different options. The customer wanted to explore what varying designs slightly would do to the price. So we amended the quote accordingly. After that, we didn’t hear anything for about 6 months. This is common with these projects. Anyone who has gone through a large planning application will testify to how long and arduous the process is.
When we eventually did hear, the customer was instantly ready to place an order. So we got all the paperwork and deposit sorted and the order was placed. Our surveyor Terry attended site and carried out the full site survey. We turned up to install around 6 weeks later and got all of the Schuco windows and doors installed over two days.
