Our slim profile aluminium windows and doors were perfect for this project in Surrey. They are a combination of Schuco AWS70 SC (slim casement) windows, ASS70 HI (highly insulated) and an ADS70 HI (highly insulated) single door.
This project developer/homeowner came to us recommended by an architect we had worked with on a smaller project. Already a veteran developer, this customer has invested in, developed and restored numerous properties from dilapidation back to all their glory. He had used Schuco aluminium window and door systems before, so knew of the high aesthetic, thermal and security values of the product.
The homeowner had actually already placed an order with another company for the windows but, as sometimes happens, after a full site survey, the price mysteriously jumped up. Concerned with the company he was dealing with, the customer cancelled the order in search of a more reliable company.
He got in touch with us and dealt with our chap James, who quickly got the slim profile aluminium windows and doors quoted for him. After playing around slightly with the specification and designs, the order was quickly pleased, keen to get everything moving and installed as soon as possible. The spec was as follows: Schuco AWS70 SC casement slim profile aluminium windows and ASS70 HI lift and slide doors and an ADS70 HI single door with our standard double glazing and black Swiss Spacer bars, with toughened safety glass where required.
After placing the order, our surveyor Eddie attended site within a couple of days and measured everything up. The difficult access issues we rife. The property has a hugely steep garden as well as a tight balcony running around the property. This all meant that extra men as well as a scaffold tower would be needed on site in order to manoeuvre the large fixed glazed unit around and into place on the first floor. Everything was ordered accordingly and the slim profile aluminium windows and doors we ordered.
Around six weeks later, the installation took our chaps Dave and Stuart four days and everything was successfully installed without issue. We are expecting some more photos when the project is fully finished. We are due to install the rest of the house in 2016 as well as potentially supplying new glass balustrades too. We will write this up and add photos onto this page.
